Personal digital assistant - based drug
reference software as tools to improve rational prescribing: Benchmark
criteria and performance
Lexi-Drugs achieved the #1 rating, a 73% (29 points) on
a 0 to 40-point rating scale measuring the performance of 11 PDA-based
drug reference software products. The drug references were assessed in
six quality criteria areas: up-to-date information, evidence-based
dosing information for labeled and unlabeled indications, side effects,
drug interactions, herbals and nutritional supplements, and special
features. In this same study, ePocrates was rated 4th at 55% (22
points), and mobileMDX was rated 9th at 45% (18 points).
